Tuosist has much to offer to the tourist who seeks the wild and tamed beauty of South Kerry
It’ss an area, which stretches along 37km (23miles) of the northern coastline of the Beara peninsula.
The Derreen tropical gardens are situated 8 km (5 miles) from Ardgroom. Planted over a hundred years ago by the fifth Lord Landsdowne, the gardens boast a wealth of sub-tropical plants and flowers. You can take one of the planned walks through the glades of eucalyptus, giant blue gums and bamboo, which thrive in the soft Kerry climate, and wonder at 43m (140-ft) giant red Cedars.
The Cloonee lakes, Inchiquin Lake, Uragh Lake and Glenmore Lake are ideal for fly-fishing for salmon, trout and sea trout.
