Flowerhill House, County Galway
Gilbert Charles Nugent, Twelfth Earl of Westmeath, lived at Flowerhill House with his wife before inheriting the family title from his brother in 1933. The Census of 1901 recorded that Flowerhill House had twenty one windows in the front and twenty one rooms occupied by the family.
In 1903, most of the land associated with Pallas and Flowerhill was bought out by the tenants through the Land Commission. In 1929, Gilbert sold Flowerhill House along with 180 acres of land to John Walsh, a native of Kylebrack. Still in the Walsh family, today the farm is run as a very successful equestrian business.
